WHY PLAY RUGBY??

Great for Physical and Mental Wellbeing

Rugby Union is more than a sport; it's a holistic development tool. It instills teamwork, resilience, discipline, and strategic thinking - all crucial life skills.

Affordable Registration

Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, the registration fee is an accessible $55.  Additionally, families can use Active Vouchers towards the registration cost, making it even more budget-friendly.

Family

Wauchope Thunder is more than a club; it's a family. Your child will be part of a community that supports, encourages, and celebrates each other's successes, both on and off the field.

TINY THUNDER

Wauchope Thunder are proud to be pioneers of this new initiative for kids to get into rugby.

2023 we saw the very first inclusion of the 2-5 age group as a part of the Wauchope Thunder Rugby Club.

Ben Nolan had first come up with the idea after returning to Australia from France where he had seen rugby clubs int heir country including children of all ages. It was clear that the skill level of all juniors prospered from starting at a much younger age. This can be seen evidently across all levels of junior rugby across France.

NSW Rugby jumped on board last year and started a platform called ‘Get into Rugby’  Which aided Wauchope in promoting the game within the area. They Provided the Rugby Club with Balls, Cones, Bibs, Flags and Promotional banners. After the success of our first season in 2023 NSW Rugby ran an article on what we were doing, and the University of Sydney contacted the club to gather information about the program for discussion on implementing the idea into other clubs throughout NSW.

So what are you waiting for? Let's get into Rugby
